Sevenoaks School Events

We are thrilled to be supporting Sevenoaks School with their programme of author events, for which we will be running book sales. These events are open to both the public and their school community. They host a wide variety of speakers, all experts in their fields, offering insights into many fascinating topics.

Upcoming Events:

Jon Alexander – The Citizen Shift Friday 6 May, 6.30pm – 7.30pm

Jon Alexander will be in conversation with Cat Davison, discussing his book Citizens.

Jon Alexander began his career in advertising, before making a dramatic change. Driven by a deep need to understand the impact on society of 3,000 commercial messages a day, he gathered three Masters degrees, exploring consumerism and its alternatives from every angle.
In 2014, he co-founded the New Citizenship Project to bring the resulting ideas into contact with reality. In Citizens, he is ready to share them with the world.

Tickets are £7 in support of EduSpots and the British Red Cross Ukraine Crisis Appeal. You can book by emailing  [email protected]

Sir Jonathan Bate – Mad About Shakespeare Tuesday 7 June, 7.30pm

In 2015, Jonathan became the youngest person ever to be knighted for services to literary scholarship. His interests include Shakespeare, Romanticism, biography and ecocriticism.

‘In the process of writing this memoir, I discovered that it was, among other things, a tribute to Sevenoaks – especially to my great English and Drama teachers John Adams, Alan Hurd, Jon Campbell and Bob Taylor. In my talk I’ll try to convey the excitement of that golden age in the school’s continuing history of visionary education.’

This a free event which you can book via email – [email protected]
