We will be running our next Writing Group Sept 2023 to June 2024. The Writing Group is a course in the Bookshop Writers’ Café for a group of up to eight dedicated writers. It will run alternate Wednesdays, in term time, from 7:00 – 9:00 pm.
The group will be facilitated by Lisa Meekison, a local writer who has led the Bookshop Writers’ Group for six years.
Each meeting will include a facilitated discussion on topics ranging from character creation to pitching, and the opportunity to focus on your work-in-progress through in-depth critiquing from the group. The course will also include industry talks given by writers, editors, publicists or agents.
The course is £375 and, in addition to the meetings, group members will receive two books on writing practice and a 15% discount on books purchased in the Bookshop through the duration of the course. Upon completion of the course, members will be invited to join our Alumni Group, a thriving community that shares support and special events.
