YOUNG READER REVIEW 

I absolutely loved the battle scenes in this book and the way the magic was written, specifically the Orisha religion and their powers. I also found Jean and James’s sibling bond really meaningful as in a way they were the only ones who understood each other. In additional as well as the magic, the issues brought up in this book were very impactful to the readers (sexuality, racism etc.) and I feel like they are written about very maturely. Overall, I really enjoyed this book.
