Bookseller review by Valerie:

The story starts in a small seaside town in Australia in the year 2000 when the  protagonist Charlie’s mother goes missing. As a young policeman whose father, also a cop, comes under suspicion of murdering her, the crime haunts him and when he returns to the family home in January 2020, under a disciplinary cloud himself, he devotes himself to solving the mystery. Family and small town relationships and tensions are acutely observed making this a really good read as well as a satisfying crime novel.
